Research Development Design & Innovation

Viktor Aleksandar Jovanovic

I hold a PGCE, Computer Graphics from University of London and a BSc in Computing from London Guildhall University. My father was an engineer specialising in hydrodynamics and aerodynamics, he was also an inventor and I spent many years by his side helping him and learning about engineering design. We often talked about the strengths and weaknesses of airplane propeller designs and this started me thinking about wind turbines.

More recently the topic of renewable clean energy related to global warming became a burning issue and seemed to be the focus of media attention, which again brought into the spotlight, energy generating wind turbines. Having realised that only a small amount of wind energy was being converted into electricity I started investigating all the existing wind turbine designs. I set about studying all the existing books and research papers available on the subject and came to the conclusion that a complete design overhaul was needed. I spent my time working part time as a lecturer and working full time on researching wind turbine technologies. Iterative technical trials on working models and continuous R&D work resulted in the current Stormblade concept.
